Finyx named Employer of the Year

Finyx have taken part in the university of York’s internship scheme for 8 years, and 88% of our analyst cohort have joined us through the scheme. As such, we are overjoyed that this year we have been nominated, shortlisted and successfully accredited as the University of York’s Employer of the year!

Alongside the nomination, a testimonial was submitted that detailed the value of a Finyx internship. Highlights include:

‘I can confidently say I would not have achieved the growth that I have done with any other employer – Finyx crated an open culture allowing me to fulfil internship objectives as well as spend time on my interests’

‘The opportunity to interact with Finyx’s calibre of skill was a major turning point in how I have considered my academic and professional development.’

‘I have committed to a placement year at Finyx to continue learning from an employer I consider myself honoured to have had the opportunity to work with.’

‘Finyx deserves recognition as employer of the year to promote a York-local business providing an internship experience I would recommend to any student, regardless of subject area.’

At Finyx, we take great pride in our inclusive culture and the opportunities we provide to enrich the local communities in which we operate. Hearing about the impact we have had on student life and winning the award is a true testament to our team effort and makes us want to set the bar even higher going forward.

Our York analysts and consultants are already working on an internship improvement strategy to make our offering even more competitive next year.

John Rollings, Director of our York office reflected on the award, “We’ve taken part in the internship programme for years, building on our relationship with the university. A lot of our interns stay on and accept full time roles with us, and so we always consider it as a sort of 2-way, 10-week interview process. It’s always been a way for us to get to know our analysts before they start full time, but I wasn’t sure we’d actually win anything at the celebration evening. It turned out to be worth the trip out and is a nice addition to the shelf!”
